Teenage Boys Depression

Depression in teenage boys is a problem hard to solve. Boys are brought up to have strong personalities and this is why they are not prone to sharing information about things that make them feel upset. Though a lot of teenage boys pretend to be tough, they try to hide their problems and the disharmony between what they want to be and what they are leads to personal crises.

Teenage Boys Depression is Related to Poor Decision Making

Chronic diseases may affect the ability of a young person to lead an active way of life and a depressive disorder may be a consequence of this. When there is no stability in the family, the boy feels no firm ground and becomes anxious. If the parents do not pay enough attention to their male sibling, and he feels the lack of parental support then he may have difficulty in decision making. Having nobody to consult with him, the boy feels unsure of himself and the feeling of guilt without reason may appear and that is one of the symptoms of depression.

Feeling hopeless, a depressed boy may become aggressive for no reason as long as the way out of his state of mind is hard for him to work out. In boys, depression often leads to substance abuse problems and, in some cases, to promiscuous sexual behaviour.

A reason for a teenage boys depression

A reason for a teenage boy’s depression can be the influence of misconceptions about sex and male behaviour in life that bombard his imagination from movies, advertisements, PC-games and other objects of popular culture. Getting rid of misconceptions of other and not taking on board other peoples’ opinions as early as possible is crucial for a boy with normal confidence and behaviour. Working with teenagers suffering depression, anxiety and stress and relieving them of there symptoms is a great reward in itself. Being able to do this without the use of drugs is undoubtedly a step in the right direction. A new approach is to change the ‘core energy’ of the condition. When that happens all other sub energies change bringing harmony and balance.

Sometimes I think talking about it is a huge step. Depression can be a very loleny and debilitating disease but having a forum to talk about it, in a safe way, can be liberating and then all of the sudden it loses some of it’s power. Hang in there.
